Wood-fired paella burner
PA160 - 2 arms
Stainless steel tabletop
Do you know the rice that chefs love? Discover it here:
The PA160 is the tabletop version of the PA160C: the same wood-fired paella burner, designed with Edu Torres (Molino Roca), with two arms and a handwheel on each, but without a cabinet or castors. It sits on a stable, suitable surface.
Each handwheel sets the height of its pan above the embers: a high heat for the sofrito (the aromatic base at the start of the recipe), a moderate heat for cooking the rice and a high heat again at the end for the socarrat (the thin, golden crust of rice on the base of the pan).
Dimensions: 1,555 × 820 × 735 mm (width × depth × height).
How many people does it serve?
For a 70 cm paella pan, the largest size. Takes pans from 10 to 70 cm on each arm. Approximate figures.
- Restaurant style 10-15 people Thin layer of rice A thin layer of rice (1 to 1.5 cm). The grains stay separate, with socarrat. It is the layer chefs recommend.
- 18-20 people Up to the rivets The rice reaches the rivets that hold the handles. A medium layer: keep a closer eye on the fire.
- Up to 30 people Full pan Rice almost up to the rim. It is the maximum, for events. The rice is creamier and socarrat is harder to achieve.
With two paellas at the same time: around 20 to 30 servings in a thin layer (up to 60 with both pans full).
Much more than paella
- Paella pans from 10 to 70 cmA small pan for a few guests, a 70 cm pan for around 10-15 servings (up to 30 when full). On the 2-arm models, each arm takes a pan from 10 to 70 cm.
- Meat, fish and vegetablesThe round grill also lets you cook steak, chops, fish or vegetables over a wood fire.
- Two things at onceWith two arms: two paellas, or a paella and food on the grill, each at its own height.
Which model do you need?
Choose by the number of paellas you want to cook at once and by location: on a stable surface, or on a cabinet with castors so you can move it.
Approximate figures for a 70 cm pan, depending on the amount of rice: thin layer (1 to 1.5 cm, as in restaurants), around 10-15 servings; up to the rivets of the handles, 18-20; full pan, up to 30.
